Wood Mouse
The Wood Mouse, previously more commonly known as the Field Mouse, is still mis-named since it prefers shrub and hedge habitat to either woodland or open fields. Also known as Long-tailed Field Mice, they are common throughout most of Europe.

The tail is about the same length as its body (unlike Voles which have much shorter tails, also less upright ears and less protruding eyes than the Mouse).

Wood Mice have warm honey brown fur (browner than the grey of House Mice; not as chestnut red as Bank Voles) with a white underside. The Yellow-necked Mouse is similar.

These Wood Mice live in my back garden in North London.
