The Gemsbok Oryx, also called just the Gemsbok, is native to southern Africa. Like all Oryx, both male and female have horns.

The Gemsbok (above) is closely related to the similar East African Oryx (Oryx beisa), but the latter has no black/dark brown on its hind legs nor at the base of its tail (and is genetically distinct).
