The Roan Antelope is native to grasslands of sub-Saharan Africa.
One of the world's largest antelopes, males reach 4.5 feet at the shoulder.
Both male and female adults have horns. Herds of females are led by a dominant male.
Both males and females fight for dominance, usually on their knees, using their sharp horns.
There are a number of subspecies throughout its range.
