Warthogs have four fleshy protrusions (lumps or "warts") on the sides of their face. Boars (males) have larger "warts" or lumps to cushion blows when fighting. They have two pairs of sharp tusks, the larger upper and the smaller lower sets, both for defence/fighting and digging. They also have a long, shaggy, two-tone mane from crown to rump.
