The Pink-backed Pelican is a small pelican but has a wingspan of nearly 8 foot and can fly long distances.
It is native to sub-Saharan Africa and Arabia.
It often has an untidy hairstyle and has black eye make-up. Its lower bill is striped and its legs and feet are pink.
The Pink-backed Pelican rarely shows its pink back (can just be seen above); with wings closed
it shows a white or grey-brown speckled back (the Roseate Great White shows a pink back).
Pink-backed Pelicans are often victims of fish hooks, oil spills, pesticides.
On the water - the diet is almost entirely fish.
