The Great-billed Parrot is also called the Moluccan Parrot which is misleading since many parrots
are native to the Moluccan Islands and the Great-billed inhabits several Indonesian islands.
The Great-billed is the largest of the "Tanygnathus" parrot species
shown on this website (the semi-nocturnal Black-lored, "Tanygnathus gramineus" is a little larger).
Males and females have similar plumage, including a blue back and yellow underwings and undertail, and both have large red bills.
