The Bronze-tailed Peacock Pheasant, also called the Sumatran Peacock Pheasant, is native to mountain forests of west Sumatra, Indonesia. It is shy and elusive. Unlike other peacock pheasants, their plumage has no eye-spots. The male has longer tail feathers and two spurs on each leg used for fighting other males in the breeding season. There is a northern and a southern subspecies.
