The beautiful male Palawan Peacock Pheasant is the most colourful of the peacock-pheasants which all have "eyed" plumage and the
males raise and spread their tails like peacocks.
The Palawan Peacock Pheasant is native to Palawan Island of the Philippines.

The hen, as usual for pheasants, is much plainer.
The plumage of the non-breeding male is similar to the female, except the tail and some remaining blue spots.
The male raises his iridescent neck feathers and drops food items for the female. If she accepts the food offerings, he then spreads
his wings and tail in display to her and walks round her.
