Burmese Star Tortoise Geochelone platynota

The Burmese Star Tortoise is native to dry forests of Myanmar. They grow to some 28(m)-35(f) cm long. The markings are for camouflage.

These rare tortoises are critically endangered and close to extinction since they are eaten by the Burmese and collected for the illegal pet/wildlife trade.
