The American Black bear is native mainly to the northern part of north America and is America's and the world's most common bear.
It can be brown and blonde as well as black and often has brown muzzle and/or cream chest markings.
Although a massive bear, it is far smaller than the brown Grizzly Bear
(Ursus arctos).
Males and females have a similar appearance but males are usually significantly larger.
