The White-spotted Rose Beetle, also called the White-spotted Barbary Beetle, is a type of chafer beetle, eating pollen.
It is some 10-12mm long, black with white spots.
It is native to the Mediterranean region but has spread to northern Europe in recent years including, more recently, the UK.
They use "snout in the trough" style of eating, frequently several on one flower, but are probably good pollinators.
