Katydids are related to crickets. The Malaysian Leaf Katydid is native to Malaysia.
Camouflaged as a leaf, it has 2 "eyespots" on its side to further help its defence against predators.
It is mainly nocturnal. Some 7cm long, it is half the size of the Giant Malaysian Katydid,
Arachnacris corporalis, at 15cm long with a 25cm wingspan.
Eggs are laid singly inside a leaf.
