The Giant Hooded Katydid, the only species in its genus, is native to tropical forests of Indonesia,
Papua New Guinea and northern Australia.
Like other Katydids, they are camouflaged as a leaf, but can fly and the body, when revealed,
looks cricket-like (the female above has an ovipositor). The Giant Hooded is one of the largest with a wingspan of up to 27cm.
They eat leaves. (This one above centre has lost a front leg.)
