Green Neon Tetra
The Green Neon Tetra, also called False Neon Tetra, is native to vegetated waters of the South America's upper Orinoco and Negro river basins. It has a half to two-thirds red stripe along the rear flank together with a full luminous blue-green stripe all the way from eye to tail, unlike the related Cardinal Tetra which has a full, wide red stripe diffusing into the tail and a blue stripe which stops well short of the tail; and unlike the Neon Tetra which has a three-quarters blue stripe.
They grow only to about 2cm long and are shoaling fish that hide among vegetation; the neon luminosity allows them to see one another.
