The Crystalline Rosy Tetra, also called the Charming Tetra after its taxonomic (and French) name, is native to
blackwater tributaries of the upper Rio Negro basin in Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela. It grows to 3.5cm long. The larger males
have longer dorsal and anal fins than the females and a stronger pink colour.
(Apart from its pinkish colour, the black patch on the flank has a different and more horizontal shape to that of the
more silver Coffee Bean Tetra.)
