The Rosy Tetra is native to well-vegetated, slow-moving clear waters of the drainages of the Essequibo,
Courantyne and Suriname Rivers in Guyana and Suriname in northeastern South America. It grows to 3.5cm long. The larger males
have longer dorsal and anal fins than the females. The Rosy Tetra used to be considered a subspecies of the Ornate Tetra.
These are White Fin Rosy Tetra, a variety of Rosy Tetra that look remarkably similar to the Ornate Tetra.
Apparently the Ornate have a small, dark spot around the gills, not alwaays perceptible, which Rosy does not have.
Males have longer fins than females.
