Barombi Yellowfin Cichlid Coptodon kottae

The Barombi Yellowfin is one of a small number of species of cichlid native only to Cameroon's crater lake Barombi Mbo and, in this case, also to Lake Mboandong. It grows to 20cm long. Like several other endemic species in the lake, it is critically endangered due to human-caused pollution, deforestation, sedimentation, overfishing and introduction of predators.
