Painted Stork Mycteria leucocephala

The Painted Stork with its black and white "woven" wing border and splash of pink on its rump is native to the Indian subcontinent and also has a presence in coastal regions of Southeast Asia.

The Painted Stork is similar to the related Milky Stork (link below) and can hybridise where their ranges overlap in Southeast Asia. Brown juveniles look similar to those of the Milky Stork.
