The Milky Stork is native to coastal mangroves the Malaysian peninsula, Indonesia and Indochina.
It is related to the Painted Stork and the Yellow-billed Stork (see links below) and stands
just under a metre tall. It is classed as endangered, mainly through destruction of its limited habitat.
Juveniles are brown and look similar to those of the other three species in the genus.
This bird with a deformed bill is showing a touch of red-pink colouring in the tail and may be a hybrid
with the Painted Stork which has pink in its rump.
