The Western Rosella, also called the Stanley Rosella, smallest of the rosella parrots, comes from the Southwest of Australia.
The male Western Rosella is more brightly coloured than the female.
He's also shy.
The female Western has green on her head and front, unlike the full red head and front of the male.
West meets East
From the front he can be distinguished from the Crimson Rosella by his yellow cheeks (instead of blue).
