The Short-tailed Parrot, as its name suggests, has a very short tail. Its plumage is almost entirely green
and its bill is two-tone grey. It is the only parrot in its genus and is native to South America.
Like the Yellow-faced Parrot, it is from the Amazon basin area, both being the only bird in their genus and
related to each other and to the Pionus genus of parrots.
The Short-tailed Parrot lives along rivers in the Amazon Basin area of northern South America.
