The Blue and Gold Macaw (also called Blue and Yellow Macaw) is one of the most magnificent of parrots and of birds.
The Blue and Gold Macaw's range covers forest over much of the northern half of South America through into Panama.
Diet is mainly vegetarian (nuts, which it can open with its strong beak, seeds, fruit, tree bark)
but also can include some invertebrates or even small vertebrates.
One of the largest parrots, the Blue and Gold Macaw can be nearly 3 feet long from head to tail.
The chin is black and the brow is green, unlike the similar Blue-throated Macaw.
