The White-fronted/(White-browed) Amazon, also called the Spectacled Amazon, is native to Central America and Mexico.
Males have red "shoulders" (leading edge of wing); they are one of three Amazons (including Yucatan and Red-spectacled)
where males and females can be identified by plumage.
It is the smallest Amazon at 24-25 cm long.
Some call the nominal subspecies immediately above the "White-fronted" and the A. a. nana subspecies from southeastern Mexico to Guatemala
(first image, top and second rows) the "Lesser" or "Spectacled", but there is little visible difference in the 3 subspecies.
Some individuals, especially females (above) and juveniles, have incomplete red eye-rings ("spectacles")
and incomplete white brows.
