The Grey Plover in winter plumage; in summer plumage it has a black face and belly. In North America it is called the Black-bellied Plover.
The Grey Plover breeds in the Arctic and northern coasts of America and Russia. It winters in temperate Europe (including UK),
North and South America, Africa, Asia and Australasia.
In flight, the Grey Plover has dark "armpits" under the wing.
