The Ringed Plover is prevalent in northern Eurasia and the Canadian east coast.
Some migrate south for winter to Africa/west Asia and some remain.
The breeding male (above left and top left) has more black marking through the eye and on his breast band than the female (top centre).
The juvenile Ringed Plover has a black bill, dull grey-orange legs and a partial breast band
(adult has mainly orange bill with black tip, brighter orange legs and complete, black breast band).
