The Brown Eared Pheasant is not a brown-eared pheasant but is a mainly brown pheasant and one of four "eared" species which have whiskers of
feathers sticking up like horns.
The Brown Eared Pheasant is native to mountain forests of northeastern China.
The tail has long plumes.
Unusually for pheasants, male and female Eared Pheasants have similar plumage and appearance, although the hens are slightly smaller.
