Fischer's Turaco Tauraco fischeri

Fischer's Turaco comes from coastal East Africa. The adult has a prominent red crest tipped with black on top and white on the nape, a green face, red eye-ring and bill and white eyeliner. Turaco's are among the very few families of birds to have true green pigment and true red pigment rather than feather structure which reflects light from carotenoid yellows to show as red and green.

Like other Turacos, Fischer's has a red under-wing. The body, wings and tail are green.
