Purple-crested Turaco Tauraco porphyreolophus

The Purple-crested Turaco is native to woodlands of South and East Africa.

Like other Turacos the green and copper plumage tones are the result of true colour pigment. The degree of purple crest varies with the light.

The upper wings and tail colour also varies in shades of blue, purple and turquoise depending on the light.
