Fruit Doves are a colourful genus of fruit-eating, forest-dwelling doves from southeast Asia and Australasia.
They digest the fruit but pass the seeds undamaged to disperse and regenerate their food plants.
The Beautiful Fruit Dove, also called the Crimson-capped Fruit Dove and Rose-fronted Pigeon,
is native to New Guinea and nearby islands. Both male and female have similar plumage with a pink-crimson crown, white chest,
crimson border between chest and yellow-gold belly and green wings/back.
