The Javan Pied Starling, also called the Javan Pied Myna, is native to the islands of Java,
Sumatra and Bali, Indonesia, but may now be extinct in the wild. The extirpation is due to their capture for the
Asian cage bird trade because of their ability to mimic sounds.
Male and female have similar pied plumage and orange eye-rings and look somewhat like the more common
Asian Pied Starling but they don't have the large patch of orange at the base of their ivory-coloured bill.
