Black Bulbul Hypsipetes leucocephalus

The Black Bulbul, also called the Asian Black and, confusingly, the Himalayan Black Bulbul, is native to South Asia/Indochina.

The birds illustrated are blue-black, but the nominal subspecies, as the scientific name indicates, can be white-headed and other subspecies are grey, usually with a black head or cap but sometimes with white head and neck.
