The Long-nosed Whip Snake, also called Green Vine Snake, is a long, very slender, green snake.
Pencil-thin, it can reach 2 metres long and has a pointed, arrow-shaped head with long nose. When disturbed,
it may show white scales along the body. Slow-moving, its green colour provides good camouflage in bushes.
It used to be considered native to South and Southeast Asia but a 2020 study indicated that it was endemic to Sri Lanka
and split out several other species in South Asia while not fully addressing the previous snakes described as this species in Southeast Asia.
