Variable Toad Bufotes sitibundus (prev. variabilis)

The Variable Toad is native to Asia Minor and the Middle East to Central Asia and southern Russia.

As its name indicates, the colours/pattern are variable. Males are often plainer but many females look similar to the individual above in colour and pattern. She is well-camouflaged in her marshy setting.
