There are several "casque-headed iguanas", also called "cone-headed lizards" in two genera, all from Central America. Shown is the Serrated Casque-headed Iguana, also called Cone-headed Lizard, from tropical forests of Mexico, mainly in the Yucatan.

It has long fingers like ET and an extremely long, thin tail in addition to the pretty frilled head adornment. Both male and female have head casques.

Their tails do not break off like other lizards, but they can change colour from green to brown to camouflage themselves from predators.
