Anoles are several species of small lizards native to the Americas. The Brown Anole,
sometimes called the Cuban Anole, is an arboreal lizard native to much of the Caribbean.
The male has a bright red, extendable dewlap used to court or threaten. Some males also develop
a dorsal crest (above left; there is also a separate species called the Crested Anole).
It has also been introduced and established invasive breeding populations in southeast USA
and in Southeast Asia including Taiwan and Singapore (the latter where these photos were taken, trying to enter
the mesh enclosure).
