Graham's Anole, also called the Jamaican, Turquoise or Blue Anole, is native to Jamaica and
introduced to Bermuda. It is some 6 inches (15 cm) in length, over half of which is tail. Its body is green or turquoise,
its rump and back legs are blue and it has an orange, extendable dewlap (throat). Like many anoles, it can change the intensity
of its colour and can become browner when stressed.
It is able to break off its tail to distract predators while it escapes. Males extend their dewlap to warn rivals
or court females. (The name Blue Anole is confusing as that usually refers to the wholly blue
Anolis gorgonae of Colombia.)
