Siberian Ibex Capra (ibex) sibirica

The Siberian Ibex lives in mountainous regions of Central Asia, from Northern India through to western China and north to southern Russia. It is sometimes treated as a subspecies if the Alpine Ibex but usually given species status.

It is the largest, heaviest Ibex, a type of wild mountain goat, all very sure-footed on rocky hillsides.

Only the male has the long horns (they grow continuously throughout life denoting age and rank);

females have shorter horns; both have beards.
