The Siberian Ibex lives in mountainous regions of Central Asia, from Northern India through to western China and north
to southern Russia. It is sometimes treated as a subspecies if the Alpine Ibex but usually given species status.
It is the largest, heaviest Ibex, a type of wild mountain goat, all very sure-footed on rocky hillsides.
Only the male has the long horns (they grow continuously throughout life denoting age and rank);
females have shorter horns; both have beards.
