American Miniature Horse Equus ferus caballus

I do not know why this North American breed is called a miniature horse rather than a pony. It is said it "retains adult horse characteristics" such as anatomy, especially legs, in proportion to an adult horse rather than the shorter ratio of legs on a pony.

The adult is generally less than 38 inches (97 cm; 9.2 hands) high at the shoulder.

The foal did not want to be groomed!
