Duikers are small, forest-dwelling antelopes, the name coming from the Africaans for diving (into bushes/forest). The
Red Forest Duiker is native to Central and Southern Africa.
The coat is redder than other duikers. The back is rounded. An adult stands some 43 cm at the shoulder but can jump 3 times its height.
Both male and female have small horns, the female's usually smaller than the male's. Major threats are habitat loss (to agriculture)
and hunting for bush meat.
