Fur Seals, with small ears and flippers, are not true seals but are closely related to Sea Lions.
Like Sea Lions (but not true Seals), they can bring all four flippers under their body and walk on land.
The South African Fur Seal, also called the Cape, Brown and Australian Fur Seal, is the largest of the Fur Seals,
with males reaching some 2.3metres in length.
It lives in waters off South Africa, particularly coasts of the Cape and Namibia, and also off southeast Australia,
including Tasmania. The African subspecies is shown here.
