The Black-capped Squirrel Monkey used to be considered the same species as the Common Squirrel Monkey until the mid 1980s.
It is native to Bolivia, Peru and far western Brazil.
Both male and female have a black cap, bare eye mask, black muzzle, white ear-tufts, yellow/ginger and grey fur, bright yellow
lower arms and feet and a long tail for balance and warmth.
They live in large groups in the trees.
