The Black-headed Spider Monkey is native to southern Central America and far northern South America. It is critically endangered.
It is sometimes included in the same species as Geoffroy's and the Mexican Spider Monkey (see link below).
Called a Spider Monkey as this long-limbed monkey grips with hands, feet and prehensile tail. The subspecies shown is the
Colombian Spider Monkey Ateles fusciceps rufiventris/robustus.
