Black Lemur Eulemur macaco
The Black Lemur is native to a small area of forest in north-western Madagascar.
They enjoy playing leapfrog.
The male has wholly black fur. It can be distinguished from the Blue-eyed Black Lemur
(Eulemur flavifrons, previously classed as a subspecies) by its orange eyes and stuck-out ear-tufts and sideburns.
The female, above and below, is brown-grey with a white neck ruff/side-burns. She also has orange eyes.
Her hands, toes and face are black.
