The Red or Lesser Panda is native to the southern edge of the Himalayas, from Nepal to China.
Like the Giant Panda, the Red Panda lives alone or, rarely, in pairs. It is not closely related to
the Giant Panda but is distantly related to mustelids (badgers, martens) and to raccoons.
Like the Giant Panda, it eats mainly bamboo leaves. It is mainly nocturnal.
The face can be red, white or mixed and individuals can have different markings, always with the red cheek stripes in some form.
It has a black front with black limbs and a shiny red back.
Pandemonium (so photogenic).
They spend most of the daytime sleeping high in a tree.
