The Giant Panda, usually known just as the Panda, is large black and white bear native to the bamboo forests of a mountainous region of China. An endangered species, it is a well-known symbol of wildlife conservation. They lead solitary lives, coming together occasionally to mate. A rare subspecies, the Sepia or Qinling Panda, has brown on off-white fur.
