The Yellow-throated Marten lives in forests of East and Southeast Asia and the Himalayas and northern India.
It is an omnivore but usually hunts live prey from rodents up to the size of small deer. It hunts by day in pairs or small packs.
It has few or no natural predators since it is said to have an unpleasant smell.
Its colouring of yellow fur with black head, limbs and tail is unusual for a marten.
