Pine Marten Martes martes

Pine Martens, also called European Pine Martens, in the UK are now largely confined to Scotland.

The Pine Marten has a creamy white throat and dark brown coat.

The Pine Marten is native to most of Europe and Asia Minor but has been largely exterminated from England and Wales in the last two centuries by game-keepers and fur-hunters.
