The Western Grey Kangaroo is native to south-western and central south Australia. Its coat is
usually a dusky brown rather than the paler grey of the Eastern Grey or the reddish brown of the Red Kangaroo.
It is a large kangaroo, with the males reaching some 7 feet in height. They live in groups,
referred to as mobs. Males are called bucks or jacks, females are does or jills and the young are joeys.
The Western Grey, like most large kangaroos, rests for most of the day and is active mainly from
late afternoon through the night to early morning.
