Hypera Pollux Weevil Hypera Pollux

The Hypera Pollux Weevil has a longer proboscis than appears in this photo. This one has alternating light brown and dark brown stripes with occasional "tufts", others can be more mottled brown. They live in damp grassland or near water. Grubs make mesh cocoons on plants to pupate to weevils.
