The Common Leaf Weevil is an arboreal brown weevil some 5-7mm long, shown on a man's arm (above right).
It is coppery brown or coppery green when fresh but gets dark patches with age.
A diagnostic feature, unique to British weevils in its genus, is a sharp ridge along the outer edge of the tibia (visible above left).
Like other leaf weevils, it looks "knitted" in rows. It is common in Britain and native to most of Eurasia.
