The Common Leaf Weevil is an arboreal brown weevil some 5-7mm long, shown on a man's arm (above right).
It is coppery brown or coppery green when fresh but gets dark patches with age. Like other leaf weevils, it looks "knitted" in rows.
A diagnostic feature, unique to British weevils in its genus, is a sharp ridge along the outer edge of the tibia (visible above left).
It is common in Britain and native to most of Eurasia.
